NZGA Constitution Amendments

On 5 October 2023, the Incorporated Societies Act 2022 (the 2022 Act) came into force. The 2022 Act modernises the laws and the way societies need to operate.

Existing incorporated societies (those incorporated under the Incorporated Societies Act 1908) will need to reregister under the 2022 Act if they want to remain as an incorporated society. This new Constitition for the Assocaotion needs to be lodged by the 5th April 2026 to meet the requirements of the Law.

The Executive has worked through updating the Associations Constitution and this was presented to the members prior to the 2024 AGM. It was then open for review and comment until May 2025.

To meet the new Act this will be submitted for approval at the 2025 AGM in Hamilton on the 12th November.
